Line 6 M5 Multi FX
Considered a classic by many, there’s no doubt over the solid middle ground quality of the effects themselves on the Line 6 M5.
Plenty of YouTube videos still claim this is a relevant top level piece of gear but I’m not so sure.
On the plus side, the enclosure is of solid construction and there are plenty of FX to dive into. On the tones, you’ll struggle to find a bad tone, but similarly it’s tough to find a great one!
On the flip side, the display is small, dim and fiddly. The dials feel cheap and flimsy.
Defo a case of jack of all trades, master of none. I can see the appeal for a gigging musician who doesn’t want to take expensive boutique pedals on the road, but in the studio or at home this is definitely not a good substitute for anything hand built.
